Forums and spammers

Ok, I will be blunt.
I do NOT have time to play games with imbeciles who abuse the forums by posting spam, ok?
If you didn't read the 'rules' let me spell it out plainly for you - posting of NON freeware programs, will result in removal of such garbage.
Further, said actions can and probably will be dealt with by removal of your account.
It's that simple - my time is limited in working on FA for such scum to insult this site and it's forums by posting such trash will not be tolerated.

Phone it in....

I had awhile back signed up with a free voicemail service called GrandCentral.com (which Google has since taken over/bought).
And just figured, "why not post up the number and allow you the guests (friends) of FA to be able to leave me a voicemail message?".

It does have a time limit for messages of 2 minutes, but it will enable me to be able to receive voicemails from anyone who should wish to do so.

I have not recorded a more personal greeting for the service, so don't be put off when you get the "The Grandcentral subscriber...blah blah" canned message/greeting.

Now you can call this number, but it might be a toll call for those not in the area code for the number I registered for, course the workarounds for such are plenty - using a VOiP number, Skype (this is NOT an endorsement for such), or any of the other "free" calling services.

So I'd really like to hear from you, and it also will be an opportunity to actually "hear" from you all.

Linking to FA information(s)

Linking graphics

Should you wish to link to FA, here are some graphics you are welcome to use - just please d/l and post on your own web space please:)

FA does not ask that you must link to this site, but if you'd care to it would be appreciated.
The only request FA does ask is that you tell at least one person about real freeware and share one freeware resource of your choice with them!
Thanks to Ur I.T. Mate Group for the last button! And for your unwavering support of real freeware!

Criteria for "freeware" listings on FA

:: This is yet AGAIN reposted as I am still getting non-freeware submissions ::

A brief overview of some of the basic criteria I/FreewareArena use in determining listings on this site :

* - Is it NOT shareware, a trial, a demo.
* - It does NOT contain spyware, nor contain adware that is intrusive

Thank you "Links to Freeware"

I am sad to report what many freeware pursist already know - that 'Links to Freeware' (http://home.hccnet.nl/hmdejong/) has closed.

I am personally disturbed to see another great and wonderful freeware resource close up.
I personally can atest to that site's operator's kindness and unselfish dedication to the freeware world. He embodied the true spirit of what it really is all about.
Henk worked hard to bring his site to the Net and it showed. He was fair in his ratings for sites, and he never buckled under to make garnering traffic his priority with his site - instead his great work is what brought and kept visitors returning to his site.On an even more personal level Henk extended FreewareArena friendship, as well as an understanding to the problems in my life that can hamper this site at times.
Henk also was and in my mind remains a member of The Freeware Revolution. He never stopped displaying the TFR banner and for that I say thank you!I have tried to reach Henk via email recently and have not be successful, but I will state here for anyone that can reach Henk that I hope he is well and I hope he realizes how much his site and he meant to those taht respect and admire real freeware. Thank you for being courageous enough to support and be part of TFR, and thank you for your friendship. And, that FA is always here if I can do anything for you.Thank you for so much Mr. de Jong!
Best Regards,
Scott
